Start preparing for your future
If you hope to settle permanently in the UK in the future, it can be helpful to understand the ILR process well in advance rather than waiting until you are ready to apply.
During this one-hour session, Welcome Well will discuss the current steps you can take to prepare for a successful ILR application and the things that may be important to think about and keep track of during your journey towards settlement.

What ILR means and understanding the current route towards settlement.
When to start preparing and why planning ahead can be helpful.
Information and records that may be important to maintain during your time in the UK.
Employment and sponsorship history and keeping an accurate record of your journey.
Residence and travel, including keeping track of time spent outside the UK.
Practical preparation and actions you can consider taking now.
What about potential changes to the ILR system?
We know that possible changes to settlement arrangements are an important concern for internationally recruited care workers.
The session will therefore also look at potential changes to the system and, importantly, how to distinguish between proposals and announcements and changes that have actually become part of the immigration rules.
